"OSLO - Tests of the bones of two Viking women found in a buried longboat have dispelled 100-year-old suspicions that one was a maid sacrificed to accompany her queen into the afterlife, experts said on Friday. The bones indicated that a broken collarbone on the younger woman had been healing for several weeks -- meaning the break was not part of a ritual execution as suspected since the 72-foot long Oseberg ship was found in 1904."

Italian wall lizards introduced to a tiny island off the coast of Croatia are evolving in ways that would normally take millions of years to play out, new research shows. In just a few decades the 5-inch-long (13-centimeter-long) lizards have developed a completely new gut structure, larger heads, and a harder bite, researchers say.

I came across this page with some very nice roads in India. This is certainly not the typical image of India that we have in the western world. Enjoy

"Earth gives off a relentless hum of countless notes completely imperceptible to the human ear, like a giant, exceptionally quiet symphony, but the origin of this sound remains a mystery. Now unexpected powerful tunes have been discovered in this hum. These new findings could shed light on the source of this enigma."

"Your kid isn't getting any smaller. Which means there is no going back to their old shoes, it's always about a new pair, and then a new one, and yet another new one. You get your kid a pair of new sneakers and the next week they go through a growing spurt which leaves their heels unable to fit into the snug shoe. InchWorms show accommodate the constantly growing kid by growing along with your child's foot. The only thing you have to worry about it keeping them interested in the same old design, and making sure they don't tear a hole in the sole.

"Ruggedly handsome actor Jason Beghe was best man at the wedding of "X-Files" star David Duchovny (his childhood pal) and actress Tea Leoni. In 1998, he starred as Demi Moore's love interest in "G.I. Jane." He's been featured in numerous TV dramas such as "Criminal Minds," "Numb3rs" and "CSI." In 2005, Beghe appeared in promotional spots for the Church of Scientology. But now, Beghe has escaped the church after taking courses since 1994. He's made a video that's up on YouTube."

"Just like lasagne loving Garfield, this fat cat grew to such a gargantuan size by guzzling all the food treats that his native Italy can provide. The three-year-old tabby is such a food fanatic that owner Laura Santarelli finds it impossible to get him to slim down. The flabby feline is now so large that it's a struggle for Laura just to pick him up."

This looks and sounds super yummy but I can't help think of the cholesterol in it.

"I don't know about you, but I like crispy bacon, especially on a salad. But there is never enough when you use the sprinkle crispy bacon over a salad method, so I decided to increase the bacon content with this salad and make it a focal point, I mean: you can never have too much bacon can you?"

"Thomas Beatie, a former woman who is now a pregnant man, defended his decision today to have a baby, saying he has a "right to have a biological child." Pregnant Man Despite removing his breasts, growing a wispy beard and legally having his gender changed from female to male, Beatie, 34, kept his female sex organs intact because he hoped to have a child some day. After years of struggling with his sexual identity and deciding to live as a man, he did the most womanly thing possible -- he became pregnant. In an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Beatie said his lifelong desire to have children motivated him to use his still working female reproductive organs when he learned that Nancy, his wife of five years, was unable to conceive."

"The Aptera electric car is so futuristic-looking, it's been seen on the set of the new Star Trek     movie.

The Aptera was designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, and later as an extended range electric vehicle. After building the proof-of-concept Mk-0, [they] hired the automotive design firm, 'eleven', to help further develop the concept vehicle. The 'eleven' team ... made great strides in the development of the Aptera's body styling, interior design, and structural engineering. [They] refined the Aptera's shape to maximize efficiency using Computational Fluid Dynamics, developed and built advanced suspension and drivetrain components, and integrated a strong yet lightweight composite shell."
